• Question: how old where you when you got into coding

      I didn’t start coding until I was studying at Uni, probably when I was about 22 or 23. Then I started learning how to use a coding language called R, which is used a lot by scientists to analyse data – particularly turning the numbers into pictures so they are easier to understand!
      I have since also learnt a language called Netlogo, which is pretty cool, I used it to predict where fishermen might go to fish!
      I think it’s really great that more and more schools are teaching coding now – I think it’s going to be a really important skill in science in the future – if you’ve been learning some coding at school then you probably already know a lot more about it than a lot of scientists who work in Universities!!
