• Question: if you had the equipment and funding to do anything what would it be?

      Hi there, great question! There are a couple of topics that I really have my eye on at the moment. One of these is the impact of automation on the food system. The idea of smart farms where farmers manage day to day activities from their phones, using drones for remote sensing along with other technological leaps is fast becoming a reality in some parts of the world. Other sectors of the economy have a much better idea of how automation will change their environmental and social impacts, but much more work is required for the agriculture sector to understand what these changes will mean

    It isn’t my area, but I’d love to do more work in how we can get food to go further so people don’t starve. I think there’s so much more we can do with the food chain. But it would involve me re-training completely! So maybe its a challenge one of you guys should take on as our next generation of scientists? 👩‍🔬👨‍🔬💡🥕🥩🥖🌽
