      CO2 is the chemical formula for carbon dioxide. C stands for Carbon, and O stands for Oxygen – Carbon dioxide is made up of one carbon atom and two oxygen atoms, which is why there’s a 2 after the O!
      Carbon dioxide is known as a ‘greenhouse gas’ because it contributes to global warming. The amount of carbon dioxide in the earth’s atmosphere has risen, due to human activities (like industry) – we need to try and curb emissions to reduce the impacts of climate change!
