It sort of depends on what they need. Sometimes I help them put on muscle or lose body fat. Sometimes I give them recipes or tell them what they need to eat or drink to be the best at their sport. A lot of athletes travel to games so I give them advice on what food they should be taking with them.
The thing I love most about disabled sports is that there’s not a lot of research done on them. Unlike able-bodied sports where we know exactly what the athlete needs more or less. So I have to use what limited evidence there is to make the best-informed guess about what they should be eating or drinking. Its so creative! You don’t always get the opportunity to be creative in science, so I love that I can!
