I just find things that live absolutely fascinating. Plus it includes my all time favourite topic (food). When I left school I went to university to study plant science. I guess because I spent a lot of time outdoors as a kid and there was a lot of live stuff around! As I’ve grown up, that hasn’t really changed. My free time is spent in and around the forest or coast (in fact because I wasn’t working today I spent this afternoon fossil hunting at the beach with my kids!).

Probably my favourite thing about biology is that it’s so messy.

I don’t just mean messy like slimy or gross (although that’s cool too!), but living things are so much more unpredictable, you can never really tell what they’re going to do next!
